The Menopause Series
Bite-sized, information-laden practitioner webinars so you feel confident supporting women in perimenopause and beyond
Why perimenopause and menopause?
Women
In the 2022 Census there was 3,300,262 women aged between 40 and 59 years. That's a lot of women and some will likely seek expert support from you (and doesn't include the women outside that range). Many women feel unprepared for perimenopause, feel that they don't know enough, and struggle being heard and getting the support they need and deserve.
Mental health
Reduced mental health is common, especially in perimenopause, and often the most distressing symptom. Recent research reported high rates of mood swings (70%), depression (44%) and anxiety (42%). In addition are other conditions including BPD, PTSD, and grief.
Cardiovascular health
CVD is a leading cause of death, illness and reduced quality of life. If you combine all cardiovascular, valve and rhythm disorders it accounts for nearly 40% of all female deaths in Australia. The perimenopause ransition is a critical window of opportunity to support CV health and to improve CV health in coming decades.
Brain health
Brain fog is another common symptom that has a significant impact on women's lives. The metablic changes in the brain at perimenopause can be supported and it is a key time to reduce the ris for ongoing cognitive impairment and dementa. Dementia (incl Alzheimer's disease) is the leading single cause of death in women in Australia.
